Plymouth
Plymouth is the largest city in Devon (population 250,000) and is at the border with Cornwall in the south west corner of Devon. It has a large naval base, Devonport and an impressive natural harbour, Plymouth Sound.
The Tamar Estuary is the border with Cornwall and can be crossed by the Saltash road bridge, Brunel's railway bridge or the Torpoint car ferrys. There is also a foot passenger fery from Devonport to Mount Edgcumbe and (summer only), from the Barbican to Cawsand.
