Dartmouth
Dartmouth is an small ancient town at the mouth of the River Dart estuary. It is in a very attractive setting, beneath steep wooded hills with a colourful, busy harbour. The medieval town's history began in 1100s, when it was one of Eng;and's main ports. Today, Dartmouth is affluent, with many smart shops, galleries and chic restaurants.
Dartmouth Naval College
Britannia Royal Naval College has been training Royal Naval officers since 1905 when the college was built. Before that, Dartmouth has been training officers since 1863, when the wooden HMS Britannia was moored in the river Dart.
