Braunton Surf Shops

Braunton is a large village close to the main surfing beaches of North Devon, Croyde and Saunton. The village has many surf shops and also well known local surf brands in clothing, wetsuits and surfboards. It has the largest selection of surfing outlets in North Devon and even rivals Newquay in Cornwall for the number and quality of the surf related shopping.

Tiki Surf Shop

One of the biggest surf shops in the country, with a very large and varied stock of wetsuits, surfboards and other surfing accessories. Also has a large surf label clothing section. Tiki is a Braunton based company and make their own wetsuits and boards which are available in the shop. Tiki also has a factory outlet on the small trading estate at Velator near Tesco supermarket.

Tiki Factory Shop, Velator

The factory shop is smaller than the main shop in the village, but is a good place to get bargain surf equipment. There is easy parking on the road outside the shop. The entrance is just off the Crow Point road at the mini-roundabout just before Tesco.

Saltrock

More known for its range of surf style clothing, there is a large factory shop next to the Tiki factory shop on the Velator estate. This is another Braunton brand with outlets in Woolacombe, Bristol, Croyde, Plymouth, Somerset and Cheshire!

Loose-Fit

A laid back surf shop and cafe on the Exeter road into Braunton. Loose-Fit make their own custom surfboards and sell all the usual accessories and clothing. Loose-Fit have won Surfer’s Path Green Wave Award two years in a row and the 2007 Green Apple Award for their environmental best practices.

Loose-Fit also have a small shop near the top of Whiteladies Road in Clifton, Bristol.

Gulf Stream Surfboards

A well respected local custom surfboard manufacturer. The main surfboard factory is in Woolacombe, with a surf shop in Braunton. The boards are made by local shaper Jools Matthews.

Hunter Surf Boardwear

The Hunter Surf Shop is on the corner of Exeter Road by the traffic lights. The shop sells mostly clothes, but they have some good beginner boards and some long skateboards. There is an academy in Woolacombe that hires boards and has a surf school just behind the beach near the Red Barn pub.

Surfed Out

Another good surf shop with a wide range of surfboards and wetsuits, Surfed Out has a main shop in Braunton, a factory shop in Chivenor and a small beach side shop and hire centre at Saunton Sands.
